June Wrap Up

June Wrap Up 2017

Welcome to July, everyone! Like I say in every monthly wrap up, I can’t believe another month has ended! This year is really flying by. Well, while I didn’t have a terrible reading month, I didn’t have a spectacular one either. I ended up finishing 5 books and a total of 1,813 pages. The reason why I didn’t get a lot of reading done was because I’ve been feeling quite crappy – both physically and mentally. Hopefully I’ll start to feel better soon so I can get back to reading!

Books Read in June

MWU1

I kicked off June by reading The Love Interest and unfortunately, as you can tell by my rating, I wasn’t a big fan. This book had SUCH a cool concept, but I just don’t think it was executed well. I did like some aspects of it, which is why I gave it 2 stars, but I was definitely glad when it was over.

The next book I picked up was Timekeeper by Tara Sim, which I had been wanting to read for months! This book was super interesting! The concept was so unique and I really enjoyed the characters as well. I wasn’t a huge fan of the romance, but I’m hoping I’ll enjoy the couple more in the next book. If you’re looking for a historical fantasy with a unique premise, definitely check out Timekeeper!

Last 3 reads (153)

The next book I read, The Fill-In Boyfriend, was very enjoyable! Last month I read By Your Side by the same author, Kasie West, and I really liked it. The Fill-In Boyfriend wasn’t quite as good as By Your Side, but I still had fun reading it! Since I enjoyed it, I wanted to read another Kasie West book so I started P.S. I Like You. Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy it as much as the other two books. I didn’t really care for the main character, Lily, and I didn’t like how she treated Cade for the majority of the book. I’ll still definitely read more Kasie West books in the future though because they’re such good fluff reads for the most part!

The final book I read in June, Tash Hearts Tolstoy by Kathryn Ormsbee, was definitely my favorite book of the month! I had been highly anticipating this book for so long and I’m so glad I loved it as much as I did! I’m hoping to have a full review of this book up soon so I won’t share too many of my thoughts now. I just have to share one more thing: this book featured an asexual main character and it felt so, so good to see my sexual orientation represented in a book!!

I read The Love Interest and felt the same way… I was so disappointed.
But I love all of your different reading challenges! I have only heard of some of them, but I am definitely going to have to participate in more challenges next year!
