The Book Aesthetics Tag

The Book Aesthetics Tag

Hi guys! I’m here today to do a super fun tag created by Michelle @ The Writing Hufflepuff. Since I’ve been loving making aesthetics recently, I thought now was the perfect time to do this tag! I wasn’t tagged by anybody but when has that ever stopped me from doing a tag?

  • Thank whoever nominated you.
  • Credit the creator of this tag.
  • There’s no limit of how many aesthetics you can make for a question.
  • Make your OWN aesthetics, please don’t steal them from someone else.

Favorite book of the year

The Hate U Give 3

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

A Conjuring of Light

A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab

Some Kind of Happiness

Some Kind of Happiness by Claire Legrand

The Hate U GiveA Conjuring of Light, and Some Kind of Happiness are 3 of my favorite books that I’ve read so far this year! I loved them for different reasons but they all had a couple things in common: 1) they’re amazing and 2) I didn’t want to put them down while reading! I highly recommend you check out all three of these books!

Character you relate to a lot

Emily SYBG 1

Emily from Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson

Tash - Tash Hearts Tolstoy

Tash from Tash Hearts Tolstoy by Kathryn Ormsbee

There are several characters I like and admire but there are few that I really, really relate to. The two I went with for this question were Emily from Since You’ve Been Gone and Tash from Tash Hearts Tolstoy. At the beginning of Since You’ve Been Gone, Emily is very much an introvert. She was afraid to do anything outside of her comfort zone. This is exactly the way I am! Throughout the book, Emily has adventures and really comes out of her shell. Now, I still haven’t 100% done this but I still really, really related to Emily! The reason why I relate so much to Tash from Tash Hearts Tolstoy is that we’re both asexual. It was the first time I read a book with an asexual main character and it was SO well done. Tash and I had pretty much the same exact thoughts about our asexuality so it’s no wonder why I connected so much to her!

A character you look up to

Nina - Six of Crows

Nina from the Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo

Inej - Six of Crows

Inej from the Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo

Hermione Granger

Hermione from the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling

Annabeth Chase

Annabeth from the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series & The Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan

These four ladies are all total badasses that I really admire! They’re all strong in their own ways and just really, really awesome.

An underrated gem

Lies We Tell Ourselves

Lies We Tell Ourselves by Robin Talley

The Impostor Queen

The Impostor Queen by Sarah Fine

I loved both Lies We Tell Ourselves and The Impostor Queen so much! I don’t know why more people aren’t talking about them. The books don’t share a similar plot or genre or anything but they both feature awesome queer girls who are fighting for themselves and for others. I highly recommend you check these two books out!

A character that deserves more love

Alex - Magnus Chase

Alex from The Hammer of Thor by Rick Riordan

Reyna - The Heroes of Olympus

Reyna from The Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan

Look what we have here! Two more characters written by the wonderful Rick Riordan. Rick just has a way of writing fantastic, diverse characters! I love both Alex and Reyna so much! They’re different from one another in many ways but they’re both strong, independent people who don’t take no for an answer. I think they sometimes get forgotten when people are talking about their favorite Rick Riordan characters but they’ll always be towards the top of my list!

An underrated OTP

Nik and Hanna - Gemina

Hanna & Nik from Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

I absolutely loved both Hanna and Nik as individual people in Gemina and they’re even more awesome as a couple! They start off as acquaintances in the beginning, but as the story goes on, they have to band together to fight for their lives which brings them closer to one another. I highly recommend this book and series!

That’s the end of the tag! I had so much fun creating all these aesthetics! I’m not going to tag anyone specific but if you love making aesthetics and want to do this tag, go ahead!
