Bookish Naughty or Nice Tag

Bookish Naughty or Nice Tag

Hello everyone! Is everyone in the Christmas/holiday spirit? I can’t say I’m 100% in the spirit quite yet. Even though our house is decorated, it just doesn’t feel like the holidays yet to me. I’m hoping this fun tag will help me get in the spirit! The Bookish Naughty or Nice Tag was created by Jenniely and I was tagged to do it by Krutula. The tag has a list of 15 bookish “sins” and you have to say whether or not you’re guilty of committing each “sin.” If you’ve done more than not, you’re considered naughty. If you haven’t committed many of the “sins,” you’re considered nice. Let’s get started!

1. Received an ARC and not reviewed it

Oops… I’m guilty of this one. I actually received 2 ARCs this year that I have yet to read and review. However, one of them I just got this month so I haven’t really had the chance to read it yet.

2. Have less than 60% feedback rating on Netgalley

I don’t use Netgalley so I’m just going to skip this one.

3. Rated a book on Goodreads and promised a full review was to come on your blog (and never did)

Um… yeah. I do this A LOT. I know that I never follow through on reviews so I’ve started writing “more thoughts to come” on Goodreads but I can’t even follow through on that!

4. Folded down a page of a book

*gasps* Never!!

5. Accidentally spilled on a book

I had a close call earlier this year when I spilled a glass of water, but my book (and my laptop) ended up safe! I just ended up drenching the table and some unimportant papers instead.

6. DNF a book this year

Guilty! I ended up DNFing 2 books this year.

7. Bought a book purely because it was pretty with no intention of reading it

Even though I have bought books because of their pretty covers in the past, I still have the intention of reading them. So, I’m innocent in this one.

8. Read while you were supposed to be doing something else

I’m 99.9% certain I’m guilty of this one. I can’t think of a specific moment right now but I’m sure I’ve done it.

9. Skim read a book

While I’ve skimmed small parts of books, I have never skim read an entire book before.

10. Completely missed your Goodreads goal

I actually passed my Goodreads goal!! As of the time I’m writing this, I’m 5 books ahead of my goal!

11. Borrowed a book and not returned it

Nope, I’m innocent with this one. The only books I’ve borrowed this year have been from the library and I’ve returned them all on time.

12. Broke a book buying ban

I didn’t really put myself on a book buying ban this year so I’m good with this one.

13. Started a review, left it for ages, then forgot what the book was about

GUILTY. So guilty. Most of the time I don’t even attempt writing reviews anymore but when I did start a few, I didn’t finish them and when I tried to go back to them, it had been too long and I forgot all of my thoughts regarding the book. Oops!

14. Wrote in a book you were reading

No way!

15. Finished a book and not added it to your Goodreads

Nope! I’m really hyperactive when it comes to my Goodreads account. I always keep it updated!

The Results:

I’ve committed only 5 of the 15 bookish “sins” on the list so I can definitely say I’m nice – not naughty. I’m pretty darn proud of myself for not doing some of the things on this list, especially not being super behind on my Goodreads goal. I was super behind on it in 2016 so it’s nice to see how much better I’m doing this year!

This was a super fun tag and I would love to spread the joy! If you’re reading this and would like to do the tag, consider yourself tagged by me! If you end up doing it, feel free to leave the link to your post in the comments below. Happy holidays!
