My Favorite Books of 2017

My Favorite Books of 2017

Hello everyone! It’s this time of the year again where we all look back at what we read in 2017 and determine which ones were our favorites. I’m switching things up this year. Instead of putting all my favorite books of the year in one list, I’ve decided to break them down by genre. Also, I have included at least one honorable mention for each genre listed below. Each book title links to that book’s Goodreads page. Without further ado, here are my favorite books that I read in 2017!

My Favorite Books of 2017:

1. A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab (Shades of Magic #3)

2. The Hammer of Thor by Rick Riordan (Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard #2)

Fantasy Honorable Mentions

1. The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

2. Some Kind of Happiness by Claire Legrand

3. The Names They Gave Us by Emery Lord

4. Radio Silence by Alice Oseman

5. Tash Hearts Tolstoy by Kathryn Ormsbee

6. I Believe in a Thing Called Love by Maurene Goo

7. Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowman

Contemporary Honorable Mentions

Genre Mashups

1. The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee (Guide #1)

2. Dreamland Burning by Jennifer Latham

Genre Mashups Honorable Mentions

Wow, I’m so shocked that I have more contemporary favorites than fantasy! That usually never happens! Have you read any of the books on my list? Are they your favorites too? If not, what were some of your favorite reads of 2017? Let me know down in the comments!
